When we first set out to raise our own chickens, we didn't just want a flock—we wanted a family. If you’ve been following our journey from the day we hand-hatched these sweet girls, you know they aren’t just layers to us. They are highly intelligent, deeply emotional creatures who know their names, greet us with genuine excitement, and regularly hop right up into our laps for cuddles. [1, 2]

Most people look at a chicken and see a farm animal. But when you invest time, respect, and deep care into them, they reward you with a special, affectionate bond that the average omnivore would never expect.

Because our girls give us so much joy, we knew we had to build them a home that matched their incredible personalities. After months of planning and hard work, the official Itty Bitty Farm Henhouse and Run Combo is finally complete!

A Modern Haven for Happy Hens

We wanted something that wasn’t just functional, but beautiful. Our new setup features:

  • The Penthouse View: Three large, beautiful upper windows to flood the roosting area with natural morning light.

  • Smart Architecture: A deep, dramatic roof overhang to provide shade during hot Moscow summers and keep snow off the run during the winter.

  • Integrated Eco-Design: A seamless rain-barrel catchment system tucked right into the back to conserve water for our garden beds.

  • The Secure Great Room: A fully enclosed, hardware-cloth protected ground-level run so our Swedish, Cuckoo Maran, Silver Ruddy, and Bantam hens can safely stretch their legs, dust bathe, and socialize even when they aren't out free-grazing in the yard.

The Secret to "Chicken Love"

Building a luxury coop is fun, but the real magic happens inside the run. Chickens thrive on routine, safety, and affection. Because we treat them with deep kindness, they look at us as part of their flock. There is nothing quite like sitting out in the yard and having a full-grown hen run full speed toward you just to settle down on your knee for a nap.

Our mission has always been to show that a mindful, harm-free lifestyle is full of unexpected rewards. This coop isn't just a building; it's a testament to the fact that when you treat animals like they matter, your own life becomes infinitely richer.
